Angela is a community-based herbalist and educator who is
passionate about health, healing and plants. She has been working professionally with plants since 2005, starting her botanical journey as a professional gardener, in San Francisco. She has since studied herbal medicine with a variety of teachers. Her herbal studies began with Rosemary Gladstar's home study course, The Science and Art of Herbalism. She then went on to complete two of the long-term programs at the California School of Herbal Studies: Handcrafted Herbalism and Body Systems. Upon moving from San Francisco and returning to her hometown, Minneapolis, Angela enrolled in Lise Wolff's Three Seasons of Herbal Wisdom course. She then continued to study with Lise & gain her clinical training through a traditional apprenticeship. She has also been fortunate to study with many other herbalists: Martin Bulgerin, Erin Piorier, Karyn Sanders and Matthew Wood. She started her clinical practice in 2014.
Angela's background also includes working as a licensed massage therapist in San Francisco and completing a yoga teacher training program, in 2003, from the Yoga Center of Minneapolis.
She lives in South Minneapolis, with her partner, in a little yellow house with a wort yard (herb garden). She divides her professional time working for herself as a gardener, making medicine and working in her healing-arts practice.
